Volunteer Position

The Whitecourt Social Experience club, a non-profit organization led by a group of independent adults with disabilities, seeks an experienced person to assist with operations. This includes helping with club finances, organizing fundraisers, promoting the organization to gain new members, and teaching them effective strategies for maintaining success. By doing so, the club aims to benefit both its members and the broader community.

Volunteer Duties

Approximately 5-10 hours a month.

  • The successful candidate will attend club meetings once a month, specifically on the third Wednesday of each month, for a maximum of one hour. During this time, they will have the opportunity to interact with club members and observe their operations, with an emphasis on communication and collaboration to develop effective strategies. Additionally, they will provide mentoring and coaching to members to help them achieve their objectives.
  • The person will also assist with bookkeeping, finances, ensuring that appropriate
    procedures are followed to maintain non-profit status, and providing tax assistance. Initial organizational efforts will require significant time, but once the finances are settled, the commitment will be a minimum of one to two hours per month, either at the beginning or end of each month. Ultimately, this person will serve as a valuable resource for all club members.
  • The club would greatly benefit from the successful candidate’s help in promoting it, as well as with fundraisers and volunteer opportunities within the community. The required amount of time for this is flexible and can be discussed at a later time.
