Board Members
Board Members are responsible for enacting the bylaws and assuming legal accountability for the organization, helping to define the Clubs’ vision and ensuring the relevance of the organization’s mission, setting out the governing style of the Board, through the preparation, monitoring and updating of governance policies, ensuring the financial viability of the organization, designing strategies for the long-term financial security of the Club by reviewing and approving fund development strategies, ensuring that good community and public relations are maintained, and that the public is kept informed about the operations of the organization.
Board Member’s duties will include attending monthly meetings, attending community events, becoming knowledgeable about the organization, contributing to meetings by expressing your point of view, assuming leadership roles when asked, keeping the Executive Director informed about concerns your community expresses to you, and cooperating with the Executive Director in order to achieve the vision of the organization.
Time commitment is variable and will include:
– Monthly meetings;
– Specific duties between meetings and during events;
– Fundraising efforts outside of regular meetings.
Volunteers will gain experience in non-profit development, learn and expand leadership and communication skills.
